The battery died ... after nearly four years, can't complain ... on my Yammy XV1600a Roadstar. I was offered Yusaha batteries of 270 CCA (cold... cranking amps) capacity by other battery retailers. 270 CCA may turn over a Yammy 1100cc four cylinder bike. The pot size (and therefore the volume of air-fuel gas that you are trying to compress) is about 275 cc, less than a beer can.The pot size of a 1600 cc V-Twin (801 cc) is larger than a tallie bottle of beer (750 cc). It TAKES SOME GRUNT!Brisbane Battery Central has batteries rated at 310 CCA ... but which will deliver 620 CCA on first cold start. And THAT is where you need the grunt. In my experience, 310 CCA is plenty to start turning over a 1600 cc motor if you don't get life on first start too.Thanks guys.Oh, cheaper than 270 CCA rated batteries too.read more
